The Beatles' first proper US tour lasted a month, starting on August 19th 1964.

They had played to ecstatic crowds all over the country by the time they reached Philadelphia. All 12,037 tickets for the date had sold out in two hours in May and they were given a typically frenzied reception.

This new release presents their performance in full, broadcast on WXPN 88.9FM, together with detailed background notes and rare images.
