In January 1976, Neil Diamond triumphantly returned to performing after a four-year hiatus, during which he'd focused on himself and his family.

The following month he travelled to Australia, where he played a triumphant series of shows as part of his 'Thank You Australia Tour', covering material from the breadth of his career. The rapturously received final performance on March 9th 1976 - in front of 38,000 fans at Sydney Stadium - was telecast across 37 stations.
