Having finally conquered his addiction to alcohol and cocaine, in November 1986 Stevie Ray Vaughan embarked on his legendary Live Alive tour, generally reckoned to boast some of the finest performances of his career.

Backed by Reese Wynans(keyboards), Tommy Shannon (bass) and Chris Layton (drums), the incendiary set featured here was taped for broadcast on San Antonio's KZEP-FM, and is presented with background notes and images.
