Frank Sinatra had a fraught relationship with Australia, abandoning one visit in 1957 and having another swamped by controversy in 1974.

His late 1961 visit to Sydney, however, was an unqualified success. He performed only four shows, the last of which was broadcast on 3AK via GTV-9 Studios, and stands as one of the finest live documents of him in existence.
