• Digitally remastered for greatly enhanced sound quality

This rare and electrifying performance from some of Bay area's finest musicians highlights a particular chapter in the collaborative life of the Jerry Garcia, John Kahn, Merl Saunders period and its many offshoots. Aided by Bill Vitt's stand-in, Bill Kruetzmann, the band appears in a more relaxed and buoyant mood, but are equally charged when the other mood takes them.

The Pacific High performance precedes the more familiar Live At Keystone appearance from July 1973 that saw a release on Merl Saunders' Fantasy label. Merl Saunders' pronounced Hammond leads a delightful journey of deep, but joyful expression in an intimate setting accompanied by the lyrical solos of Garcia that take them back to where it all began in the weekly jams at The Matrix in 1970. The band selects an eclectic repertoire of carefully chosen blues, Motown and folk favourites, respectfully recalled with a jazz and funk twist.

Echoes proudly present the entire KSAN-FM broadcast from 6th February 1972, fully re-mastered with comprehensive liners and rare photos.
