In 1993, after seventeen years of performing on stage within and without a band, the original Talking Head enjoyed a renewed energy after a number of memorable acoustic dates with the likes of Natalie Merchant, Roseanne Cash and Lucinda Williams.

Byrne assembled a new, smaller band comprising of Paul Socolow (bass guitar), Mauro Reforsco (vibes, marimba) and drummer Todd Turkisher. New songs and a new band inspired a new album that subsequently produced a major world tour in 1994 announcing the release of his solo album, David Byrne.

Although the awkward, onstage staggering of Byrne had gone, a slow intensity and pronounced stiffness remained intact, which combined, would inspire a mental glimpse of early Talking Heads. Approximately half of the set list provides Byrne devotees with a delightful helping of his back catalogue including the crowd-pleasing Psycho Killer. It may be that returning to a stalwart Heads classic such as this reflects a mood of unfinished business although, as with other artists revisiting older territory, it can prove a worthwhile journey with a different head on.

Echoes' presentation of David Byrne's appearance at the Keswick Theatre, Glenside in on 20th July 1994 captures the artist in more intimate surroundings before embarking on his solo world tour to promote his new album David Byrne.

Including a fully re-mastered broadcast by WXPN-FM with liners and photos.
