After more than a decade of struggle in which his first seven albums failed to break the Top 200 despite widespread critical acclaim, John Hiatt broke through to a wider audience with a series of records in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
This broadcast of more than two hours of December 1990 performances at Chicago's Vic Theater on local station WXRT focuses on material from his album six months earlier, Stolen Moments, as well as his late-'80s records Bring the Family and Slow Turning.
Among the highlights is a version of 'Thing Called Love', covered by Bonnie Raitt on her 1989 #1 album Nick of Time.
